The elegance of Venice in the heart of Berry
The Venetian Carnival of Mehun-sur-Yèvre is a unique event in the Cher region that transports visitors to the refined and mysterious atmosphere of the famous Venice Carnival.
For several years, Mehun-sur-Yèvre has hosted this Venetian carnival, which attracts costumed participants from all over France and even Europe. Dressed in sumptuous costumes inspired by 18th-century Venice and adorned with finely crafted masks, participants create a unique and captivating atmosphere.
The carnival is completely free for visitors. The costumed participants parade through the town's streets, pose in front of historical monuments like the castle, and offer a true living spectacle throughout the weekend.
The castle of Mehun-sur-Yèvre and the medieval streets of the town provide the perfect backdrop for this carnival, which blends Venetian elegance with Berry's heritage.
