Billom, Remarkable Site of Taste
Billom, a medieval town in Livradois-Forez, is recognized as a Remarkable Site of Taste for its famous pink garlic, an emblematic product of Limagne whose cultivation dates back several centuries. The designation "Ail d'Auvergne" is reserved for garlic produced in Limagne, in forty-five communes of the Val d'Allier, according to rigorous specifications. Naturally pink and without a flower stalk, Billom garlic possesses exceptional taste qualities linked to the characteristics of the soils and climate of Limagne.
A tour of France of exceptional terroirs
The Producers' Village brings together over forty producers from the Remarkable Sites of Taste across France for three days. These sites, labeled by the national network of Remarkable Sites of Taste, are territories whose emblematic food product is intimately linked to exceptional cultural and landscape heritage. Visitors can discover and purchase products such as Billom pink garlic, Auvergne cheeses (Saint-Nectaire, Cantal, Salers), charcuterie, Bresse poultry, lentils, prunes, regional wines, seafood, and many other regional specialties.
Tastings and tasting areas
Tasting areas are set up throughout the fair to allow visitors to take gourmet breaks. Producers prepare tartines and plates on-site showcasing their products, offering a true culinary journey through the terroirs of France. A gourmet dinner is organized on Saturday evening, open to exhibitors and the general public by reservation.
An event rooted in the territory
The Producers' Village is organized in partnership with the National Federation of Remarkable Sites of Taste, Billom Communauté, and the Billom Tourist Information Office. It contributes to the renown of Billom pink garlic and the promotion of exceptional regional products in Auvergne and throughout France.
