We Metal Fest: Metal Takes Over Essonne

Launched in 2024 on the initiative of two contemporary music venues in the Grand Paris Sud agglomeration, We Metal Fest immediately established itself as an unmissable event for metal fans in Île-de-France. In just three editions, this festival has built a strong identity and a reputation that extends far beyond the department of Essonne, attracting festival-goers from all over the Paris region and other parts of France.

An Alliance Between Two Reference Venues

The unique aspect of We Metal Fest is its origin from the collaboration between two complementary cultural structures: Le Plan, a contemporary music venue in Ris-Orangis, and L'Empreinte. This alliance allows for the mobilization of significant technical, logistical, and artistic resources, ensuring professional-quality production at each edition. Le Plan, located at 1 rue Rory Gallagher (formerly 1 avenue Louis Aragon) in Ris-Orangis, is the festival's main stage with its large hall capable of hosting several hundred spectators.

Two Days of Intense Metal

We Metal Fest takes place over two days, offering festival-goers a dense and varied program that covers the entire spectrum of contemporary metal. Each day features about ten artists spread across several stages, creating an alternation between major headliners and promising discoveries. The festival hosts both established French artists and international bands, with a particular focus on the French metal scene.

An Exceptional Lineup

From its very first edition, We Metal Fest has made a strong impact with high-level lineups. The 2nd edition in April 2025 featured Pogo Car Crash Control, Akiavel, Ashen, Klone, Hypno5E, Psykup, Fange, and about ten other artists for two days of electric metal. The 3rd edition in April 2026 raises the bar even higher with Rise of the Northstar, an essential Parisian metal band, Shaârghot, a leading French industrial metal act, Lofofora, a legend of French alternative metal, Ten56., LocoMuerte, The Browning, and many other artists over the two days.

The French Metal Scene in the Spotlight

We Metal Fest stands out for its strong commitment to the French metal scene. Without neglecting international guests, the festival gives a prime place to French bands that showcase French metal: Lofofora, pioneers of alternative metal since the 1990s, Shaârghot, masters of industrial metal, Rise of the Northstar, ambassadors of Parisian metal worldwide... This commitment to promoting French creation gives We Metal Fest a unique identity in the European metal festival landscape.

A Complete Festival Experience

Beyond the concerts, We Metal Fest offers a well-curated festival experience. The venue opens at 3 PM on Saturday and 2 PM on Sunday, allowing the public to enjoy Le Plan's spaces outside of the concerts: bar, food, meet-and-greet areas between artists and the public... The friendly and passionate atmosphere that prevails at metal festivals is fully present at We Metal Fest, where festival-goers, often very knowledgeable, appreciate emerging bands as much as confirmed headliners.
