Tourcoing and its jazz since 1986

Founded in 1986, the Tourcoing Jazz Festival is the oldest jazz festival in Hauts-de-France. It starts on 10/10/2026 and takes over the city for a week, run by the Association Culturelle Tourquennoise.

Jazz remains the common thread. The programme opens up to blues, soul, funk and world music.

Concerts are spread across the municipal theatre, the conservatoire, Saint-Christophe church and the Grand Mix, the contemporary music venue on rue de Tournai. Some are seated, others standing.

Metro line 2, Tourcoing Centre station. From Lille, the regional train takes fifteen minutes. Tickets are sold online at billetterie.tourcoing-jazz-festival.com.

The rest of the weekend, from jazz to dance

In Noyon, Jazz In Noyon runs until Sunday, October 11. Created in 2021, it puts parity forward: most of the bands are led by women, with American saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin and pianist Leïla Olivesi as headliners.

In Lille, Lille Flamenca opens its season on October 11, for an edition that runs until March 21, 2027. Its «Domingos Flamencos» fill Sunday afternoons, from 3 pm to 5 pm, at the Stéphane Hessel youth hostel: a show, a dance workshop, a Sevillian ball. Musicians from COMPANŸA and the group LOS DE LA NOCHE play live. Free admission, no booking.

Saturday, October 10 is the last day of the Vervins Comedy Festival, at the Salle Polyvalente on place Sohier. Created in 2003, it ends with the Tremplin de l'Humour, where six young comedians face a professional jury. Same deadline in Château-Thierry for C'est comme ça! festival, the contemporary dance event run by L'échangeur, created in 2006: since September 17, around twenty choreographic pieces, exhibitions, films and workshops.

Around Audruicq, the Fête de la Chicorée continues until October 23. Since 2001, the association Des Racines et des Hommes has celebrated chicory, a product of Hauts-de-France: guided visits of the Sécherie and of the Chicorée du Nord roasting plant, cooking workshops, a chicory cake contest.

In Apremont, at the Polo Club of the Domaine de Chantilly, the Camper Van Week-End Paris-Chantilly runs from Friday to Sunday: van builders and converters, a used vehicle market, a bivouac area to sleep on site. The event is organised by Yogi Éditions, and the first Paris edition dates from 2023. The exhibitors' village is open from 9:30 am to 6 pm, and the We Love Van festival offers two free concerts each evening to pass holders.

Gardens, facades and photographs

Sunday, October 11 is the last day of the International Garden Festival in the Hortillonnages of Amiens. Since 2010, it has set gardens, art installations and in situ works among the city's floating gardens. The walking route from the Île aux Fagots is free from 10 am to 6 pm; the electric boat route, about 2 hours 30 minutes, costs 25 euros for one or two people.

Street art, video mapping, contemporary art: IC.ON.IC brings around thirty artists into the streets of Amiens. The Saint-Leu street art trail gains new works with each edition.

Organised by Diaphane, the photography centre in Clermont, Les Photaumnales have picked a theme for each edition since 2004 and present between fifty and a hundred artists, at the Quadrilatère in Beauvais and with partners across the region. They run until November 29.
