The first big weekend of October in Provence. At Parc Chanot, in Marseille, the fair opens its gates from September 25 to October 5, 2026. The Marseille International Fair

The Marseille International Fair takes over Parc Chanot. It stands by the Rond-Point du Prado, in Marseille. Founded in 1924, it has remained, autumn after autumn, the great commercial gathering of the South.

Each edition brings together a thousand exhibitors across 120,000 square metres. Halls and esplanades answer each other there. Six sectors sit side by side, from home living to food, from outdoor life to fashion, through to an international stage, and five of them carry a defined name while the sixth completes this vast commercial route.

The fair opened its gates on September 25, 2026. For eleven days, through October 5, Marseille runs on this great gathering.

In 2025, for its centenary edition, it had drawn more than 260,000 visitors across the halls and esplanades of Parc Chanot. This new edition, for its part, closes this Monday, October 5.

The rest of the weekend

In Mouans-Sartoux, the Book Festival closes its three days this Sunday, October 4. More than 300 authors gather at the Centre Culturel des Cèdres. In Nice, Un Festival C'est Trop Court! takes over Le 109, at 89 route de Turin, through October 9. Screenings, competitions, masterclasses and industry meetings fill the week. Founded in 2000 by the Héliotrope association, it pits young filmmakers against each other in its Compétition Européenne and Courts d'ici sections.

In Marseille, the actoral festival brings together more than two hundred artists. Theatre, dance and visual art unfold there, across venues in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, notably at 202 B, rue Breteuil. Founded in 2001 by stage director Hubert Colas, it runs every autumn for three weeks, through October 10.

In Arcs-sur-Argens, the Honey Festival brings together more than 30 beekeepers around a craft market. It ranks among the oldest beekeeping gatherings in the Var. Local honeys, propolis and beeswax fill the stalls. Comparative tastings, beekeeping demonstrations and educational activities run through this free, family event on the first weekend of October. In Ollioules, the Olive Festival celebrates a tree that stands for Provence, a treasure of the Var countryside. Olive oil producers, local craftspeople, storytellers and musicians gather there. This event reached its 33rd edition in 2025, under autumn colours.

Three seasons drawing to a close

In Antibes, the Sacred Art Festival closes its season this Sunday, October 4. Sacred and classical music concerts have followed one another in the town's cathedral and chapels. The repertoire ranged from baroque to contemporary. The Antibes Juan-les-Pins tourist office, the town and the region backed this programme.

In Le Thoronet, in the Var, Les Musicales de l'Abbaye close their season this Saturday, October 3. Born in 2022, these concerts live to the rhythm of early, vocal, instrumental and sacred music. They resonate through the limestone walls of the abbey, between July and October.

In Arles, Les Rencontres de la Photographie close that same Sunday, October 4. More than fifty exhibitions take their final bow. They had been open since July across the city's heritage sites, notably around Rue du Docteur Fanton. Founded in 1970 by Arles-born photographer Lucien Clergue, writer Michel Tournier and historian Jean-Maurice Rouquette.
