Animasia, the meeting point for Asian cultures
Animasia is the largest festival of Asian cultures and pop culture in the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Organized in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles, it offers an immersive weekend each year in the traditions and contemporary arts of Asia.
Traditional Animations and Pop Culture
The festival offers a rich program combining martial arts, cosplay demonstrations, K-pop shows, video games, manga, and original exhibitions. Visitors can discover both ancestral traditions and the most current trends in Asian culture.
Asian Gastronomy
Animasia gives pride of place to Asian gastronomy with about ten restaurants offering 100% Asian cuisine: Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese.
A Free and Family-Friendly Festival
Festival entry is free, making the event accessible to everyone. Families are welcome with activities suitable for younger children. Saturday evening features an exceptional K-pop show and outdoor night animations.
Animasia — edition 2026
4th edition of Animasia in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles, the festival dedicated to Asian cultures and pop-cultures, on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the Carré des Jalles. Free entry. On the program: K-pop, Yosakoi, cosplay, martial arts, video games, Asian food, and numerous family activities.
Animasia Saint-Médard-en-Jalles — 2026 Edition
For its 4th edition, the Animasia festival returns on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, 2026 in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles. The entirely free event takes over the Carré des Jalles, the Médiathèque Léopold Sédar Senghor, and the Cinéma L'Étoile, on Place de la République.
Organized by the Lenno team with the support of the City of Saint-Médard-en-Jalles and volunteers from the Mandora association, this event offers a chance to discover the richness and diversity of Asian cultures through several areas: video games, cosplay, conferences, traditional arts, martial arts, drawing, young creators, K-pop, South Korea, culinary demonstrations, and many other worlds.
Announced Highlights
- Saturday evening: the largest gathering of Yosakoi dancers in France, a major K-pop show (Mansae Show), outdoor activities, and about ten Asian restaurateurs.
- Sunday: a full day dedicated to Asian culture and pop-culture with four programming areas, exhibitors, young creators, activities, and food service throughout the day.
