Barbazic was a free, open-air music festival, created in 2012 by the Association des Amis de Barbazan-Debat (founded in July 2011). Its programme blended jazz, rock, reggae, gypsy jazz, funk, rap, and metal, with the aim of sharing good times without generational or cultural divides. From 2014, the event was accompanied by the Barbakids section, dedicated to children and families.

Barbazic was a music festival organised in Barbazan-Debat, a commune neighbouring Tarbes in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Created in 2012 by the Association des Amis de Barbazan-Debat (founded in July 2011), it was established as a local musical event driven by a volunteer team.
The festival offered a varied musical programme, without generational or cultural divides:
Among the groups hosted during the 2016 edition were L.Dalloway's (pop song), Fretswing (gypsy jazz), Sofaz (world music / electro), Diéval and the propulsions (vintage rock), and Bias (punk rock).
Beyond the music, Barbazic stood out for its friendly atmosphere. Concerts were accompanied by reasonably priced meals (12 €, not obligatory) prepared by an experienced chef.
From 2014, the festival was enriched by the Barbakids section, a diversified programme specially designed for children and families: shows, workshops (organic cosmetics, origami), activities (pony rides, archery, face painting), and performances by local clown Barjo Banjo. In 2016, Barbakids and Barbazic were brought together on the same day, June 11, for the first time.
The festival relied on a fragile economic model: free entry, funding mainly from municipal aid and on-site meal sales. A crowdfunding campaign launched in 2016 on KissKissBankBank to complete the budget only raised 175 € out of the 1,000 € needed, with the association then warning that it might have to stop the event the following year. No edition after 2016 has been documented. The Association des Amis de Barbazan-Debat no longer appears in the official list of associations of the commune.
ℹ 2026 edition cancelled — festival discontinued. No edition of the Barbazic festival is announced for 2026. The festival no longer seems to be held since the June 11, 2016 edition, the last publicly documented edition. No edition after June 11, 2016, has been publicly documented, neither on the festival's historical website, nor on local cultural agendas, nor in the official communication of the Barbazan-Debat town hall.
