Quebec Music Festival at Lac de Vassivière — discontinued since 2008
There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
ℹ️ Festival discontinued. The Beaumont du Québec festival, which celebrated Quebec music and songs on the shores of Lac de Vassivière, no longer seems to be held: its last publicly documented edition dates back to August 2008. We keep this page as an archive of the cultural life of the Millevaches plateau.
Organized between the communes of Eymoutiers and Beaumont-du-Lac, within the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Natural Park, Beaumont du Québec vibrated for a few years on the shores of the largest artificial lake in Limousin (Haute-Vienne) to the sounds of folk, French-language songs, and traditional music from Quebec, creating a cultural bridge between Haute-Vienne and the Belle Province.
ℹ️ Festival discontinued — last documented edition in 2008. At the time of our editorial verification (June 2026), we found no public source (organizer, town hall, tourist office, aggregators, local press) attesting to a recent or upcoming edition of the Beaumont du Québec festival. The last documented edition was held in August 2008. This page is kept as an archive of the cultural life of Lac de Vassivière.
Born from the desire to forge cultural ties between Limousin and Quebec, and supported by the Haut Limousin Québec association, the Beaumont du Québec festival was a unique event that resonated with Quebec music and songs on the shores of Lac de Vassivière. Located between the communes of Eymoutiers and Beaumont-du-Lac, in the heart of the Millevaches Regional Natural Park, it offered an immersion into North American Francophone culture.
The festival's setting matched its ambition: Lac de Vassivière, the largest artificial lake in Limousin with its 1,000 hectares of surface area and 45 kilometers of wooded shores, provided a majestic backdrop for outdoor concerts and shows, facing the shimmering waters, between coniferous forests and sandy beaches.
The program highlighted all facets of Quebec music: traditional and neo-traditional songs, folk, Acadian music, French-language rock, and contemporary creations. Artists from Quebec shared the stage with groups from the Francophone diaspora. The festival particularly made an impression during its special August 2008 edition, organized around the theme “400 years of Quebec music and songs,” echoing the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of Quebec City.
After its 2008 edition, the festival no longer seems to have been renewed. However, the Millevaches plateau and Lac de Vassivière continue to host other cultural events (the “Paroles de Conteurs” storytelling festival, the “Festival Destination Ailleurs” on Île de Vassivière, concerts and local festivities in Eymoutiers and Beaumont-du-Lac). If a new edition of Beaumont du Québec were ever to be organized, we would update this page.
ℹ️ No 2026 edition — festival on hold. No 2026 edition of the Beaumont du Québec festival has been announced. As of our verification (June 2026), no public source mentions an upcoming edition. The last documented edition of the festival dates back to August 2008.
