About Beauvais Film

ℹ️ Festival discontinued. The Beauvais International Film Festival - Regions of Europe no longer seems to be held: its last publicly documented edition dates back to 2015 (25th edition), its official website is no longer online, and the association Les Amis du Cinéma has not communicated for several years.

Created in 1991, this film festival offered the discovery of European cinema in Beauvais, in the Oise region, for over two decades. Organized by the association Les Amis du Cinéma, it honored the mosaic of regions making up the European Union through classic films, rarities, previews, cine-concerts, round tables, meetings with directors, and short films.

European Cinema in the Spotlight

From 1991 to 2015, the Beauvais International Film Festival - Regions of Europe was dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of European cinema. Each year, for five days, the festival invited the public from Beauvais and beyond to discover the cinematic richness of the European continent.

A Demanding and Eclectic Program

The festival offered a varied program that explored European cinema in all its diversity. Spectators discovered classic films, rarities, and treasures of the 7th art alongside previews and recent films. Rather than focusing on a single country, the festival embraced the entire continent, reflecting the European cultural mosaic. Over the editions, it welcomed cinema personalities such as Costa-Gavras, Nicole Garcia, Bertrand Tavernier, and Fernando Trueba.

Cine-Concerts

One of the festival's specific features was the programming of cine-concerts, where musicians accompanied live the screening of silent films or original audiovisual creations. These unique moments blended cinema and live music, offering a rare sensory experience.

Round Tables and Meetings

Round tables and meetings with directors, actors, and film professionals punctuated the festival. These exchanges allowed the public to better understand the challenges of contemporary European cinema and to discover the behind-the-scenes of cinematic creation.

Short Films

A section dedicated to European short films allowed the discovery of emerging talents in continental cinema. This selection highlighted new voices in European cinema and offered a valuable showcase for young directors.

The Association Les Amis du Cinéma

The festival was supported by the association Les Amis du Cinéma de Beauvais, which worked for the promotion of auteur and European cinema in Beauvais and Picardy.

The End of an Adventure

After about twenty editions, the Beauvais International Film Festival - Regions of Europe no longer seems to be held. No edition after 2015 could be documented, and the official website of the festival is no longer online. If a new edition were to be organized in the future, this entry would be updated.
