About Cargèse Sound
ℹ️ Festival discontinued. The Cargèse Sound Festival, an electronic music festival by the sea in Cargèse (Corse-du-Sud), held its last edition in August 2018. The organizers announced in February 2019 the cessation of the event, following the refusal of necessary authorizations by the new prefectural administration.

An electro festival on the Corsican seaside
Created in 2011 under the name Cargèse Sound System, the festival offered every summer in August, on the beaches of Pero and Chiuni in Cargèse, an avant-garde electronic music program — house, techno, dance music — for three days and three nights. In 2018, the festival partnered with Centris Events to become the Cargèse Sound Festival, with a more refined concept.
A demanding lineup
Over its eight editions, the festival welcomed big names from the international electro scene, including Black Coffee (South Africa), Damian Lazarus, and Derrick May, as well as emerging artists from the French and island scenes. The lineup combined young Corsican talents as opening acts and international headliners.
The end of an adventure
In February 2019, the organizing team announced the end of the festival, explaining that the new administration in the prefecture refused the necessary authorizations for the event's organization. Eight editions marked the summer landscape of southern Corsica, from 2011 to 2018, before this forced halt.
No resumption has been announced since. Should a new edition emerge, this page would be updated accordingly.

The Cargèse Sound Festival took place at two sites:
- Pero beach (during the day)
- Chiuni beach (in the evening)
Cargèse (20130) is located in Corse-du-Sud, on the west coast of the island, approximately 50 km north of Ajaccio. For visitors wishing to discover the commune and its current cultural agenda, the Ouest Corsica tourist office (ouestcorsica.com) remains the local reference.
