About Muntagna Bastelica Trail
The Muntagna Bastelica Trail is a mountain trail race organized in Bastelica, in the department of Corse-du-Sud. Organized by the Bastelica Muntagne Trail association, this event takes runners on the rehabilitated trails of the Bastelica territory, up to the peaks of Renoso at over 2 000 meters of altitude.
The event offers several race formats as well as a charity walk, the profits of which are donated to local projects such as the rehabilitation of the Ajara canal.
The Muntagna Bastelica Trail in Bastelica
The Muntagna Bastelica Trail is the flagship event organized annually in September by the Bastelica Muntagne Trail association, created in 2025 to promote trail running in the Renoso massif and enhance the natural heritage of the Prunelli valley, in Corse-du-Sud.
A Committed Association
The Bastelica Muntagne Trail association, chaired by François-Joseph D'Amore, was born from the common passion of the people of Bastelica for their mountains. Supported by the commune of Bastelica, it organizes two annual events: the Paese Trail di Bastelica in spring (a friendly race in the village) and the Muntagna Bastelica Trail in September, a more demanding high-mountain race.
Courses in the Heart of Nature
The Muntagna Bastelica Trail offers several race formats adapted to all levels: a long course of 28 km with 1 900 m of positive elevation gain leading to Lake Vitalaca and Monte Renoso, an intermediate course of 17 km via Mezzaniva and Latina, and a discovery loop of 10 km around Tinosu and Verga. A non-timed 6 km charity walk is also offered on the same day.
Strong Local Roots
The event highlights the natural and cultural heritage of Bastelica, a village at 850 m altitude in the heart of the Prunelli valley. The profits from the charity walks support local projects (rehabilitation of trails, Inseme association for patients evacuated for medical treatment to the mainland).

The Muntagna Bastelica Trail 2026 takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 in Bastelica, Corse-du-Sud. For this 2nd edition, the Bastelica Muntagne Trail association offers several high-mountain trail courses as well as a charity walk in the village.
Muntagna Bastelica Trail — 2026 Edition
The 2nd edition of the Muntagna Bastelica Trail will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 in Bastelica (Corse-du-Sud). Organized by the Bastelica Muntagne Trail association, the event offers races in the heart of the Renoso massif, with emblematic landscapes of the high Corsican mountains: I Pozzi di U Renosu, Vitalaca lake, Monte Renoso summit at over 2,000 m altitude.
Three timed race formats are on the program, accessible to experienced trail runners as well as beginners, along with a 6 km charity walk for the benefit of the rehabilitation of the Ajara canal.

Saturday, September 12, 2026 — Day Program
- 07:00 AM — Start of the Long Trail (28 km · +1,900 m D+) · demanding course from Bastelica to the summit of Monte Renoso (2,352 m), via I Pozzi di U Renosu and Vitalaca lake
- 08:00 AM — Start of the Short Trail (17 km · +700 m D+) · intermediate course passing through the remarkable sheepfolds of Mezzaniva and Latina
- 09:00 AM — Start of the Discovery Trail (10 km · +350 m D+) · accessible loop between Tinosu and Verga, around Bastelica
- Morning — Charity Walk (6 km, untimed) · for the benefit of the rehabilitation of the Ajara canal

Location and Access
Bastelica (20119), Corse-du-Sud. Village located approximately 45 minutes from Ajaccio via the D27. Parking available on site. The start and finish of the races are in the heart of the village, in front of the statue of Sampiero Corso.

Online registration via the Sports'N Connect platform. Bib collection on site the day before or on the morning of the event.
