The spring of the Périgord castles

Launched in 2021 on the initiative of the Dordogne Departmental Tourism Committee, Châteaux en Fête has become in a few years the flagship event of the Périgord spring. For two weeks in April, it officially launches the tourist season in Dordogne by inviting the public to discover exceptional architectural heritage.

Original activities in exceptional locations

Nearly a hundred castles, manors, and stately homes participate in the event, half of which are usually closed to the public. Owners offer tailor-made activities: concerts, balls, creative workshops, theater, wine and local product tastings, conferences, private candlelit tours, escape games, treasure hunts, theatrical tours, historical reenactments, and activities for children.

Living and family heritage

Châteaux en Fête attracts nearly 50,000 visitors each year, whether they are locals or tourists. The event highlights the living heritage of Dordogne through festive, cultural, fun, sporting, and gastronomic experiences, accessible to all audiences.
