A gourmet and friendly festival in Pluvigner
The Cider and Galette Festival is a festive and gourmet event organized annually in Pluvigner, in the heart of Morbihan. This popular festival celebrates two emblematic specialties of Brittany: artisanal cider and buckwheat galette. The program includes: tastings of local ciders, galette-making workshops, musical entertainment, a producers' market, and a friendly atmosphere. The event brings together locals and visitors around Breton gastronomic heritage in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.
Each year, the town of Pluvigner hosts the Cider and Galette Festival, a popular event that celebrates two pillars of Breton gastronomy. This friendly festival brings together local producers, artisans, and food lovers for tastings, entertainment, and encounters in the heart of Pluvigner village.
Cider holds a central place in Breton culture, and the Pluvigner festival pays a delicious tribute to it. Visitors can discover and taste artisanal ciders produced by local cider houses in Morbihan, ranging from dry to sweet. Demonstrations of apple pressing and explanations of the cider-making process help visitors understand this ancestral know-how. Producers passionately share their knowledge of Breton cider apple varieties.
The buckwheat galette, or 'galette de blé noir', is the other star of this day. Crêpe makers prepare traditional galettes in front of the public, filled with local products: ham, cheese, egg, andouille sausage, mushrooms, and many other delicious toppings. Galette-making workshops are offered to introduce young and old to the art of the Breton crêpe on a traditional 'billig' (griddle).
Beyond gastronomy, the Cider and Galette Festival offers a varied program of entertainment: traditional Breton music, concerts, Breton dances, and children's games punctuate the day. A local producers' market allows visitors to discover the riches of the Morbihan region: honey, jams, salted butter, kouign-amann, and other delicacies. The warm and family-friendly atmosphere of the festival makes it a cherished moment of sharing for everyone.
The Cider and Galette Festival is part of an initiative to promote Breton gastronomic heritage. By highlighting local know-how and regional products, the event contributes to the transmission of Brittany's culinary traditions. Pluvigner, a dynamic town in Morbihan with over 130 associations, finds in this festival a wonderful vector for social connection and local pride.
