About Pipriac Galette Festival
Every year in late September, the Confrérie Piperia la Galette brings together buckwheat producers and enthusiasts at the Espace Albert-Poulain in Pipriac, Ille-et-Vilaine. The highlight of the event is a national competition for professional crêpe makers, who have fifteen minutes to prepare their galettes in front of a live audience.
The day features a local produce market, a brotherhood mass followed by the blessing of the buckwheat, a parade through the town streets, traditional farming demonstrations, and tastings of galettes, crêpes, and the iconic galette-saucisse. The Kerlenn Pondi bagad and Celtic dance group from Pontivy provide the musical backdrop for the day's festivities.

The 2026 edition once again brings together professional crêpe makers for the National Best Galette Competition, accompanied by a local produce fair, a brotherhood mass, and the traditional blessing of the buckwheat on the church square.

Sunday, September 27, 2026
- Morning — National Best Galette Competition, exclusively for professional crêperies and takeaway vendors
- 10:00 AM — Local Produce Fair, featuring a wide array of producers
- 11:00 AM — Brotherhood Mass at the church in Pipriac, featuring music by the Kerlenn Pondi bagad from Pontivy
- After mass — Blessing of the buckwheat on the church square, followed by a parade
- 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM — Tasting of galettes, crêpes, and the iconic galette-saucisse
- Afternoon — Traditional threshing demonstrations, performances by Le P'tit Fermier, and music and dance by the Kerlenn Pondi bagad and Celtic circle from Pontivy
