The meeting of the Breton equestrian industry

Equi'Festif is an annual event organized at the National Stud of Lamballe, a heritage site founded in 1825 and dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Breton horse. Every September, the Syndicat Mixte du Haras opens the doors of this exceptional site for a day entirely devoted to the equestrian world, bringing together professionals, breeders, riders, and the general public.

Parade in town and equestrian shows

The day begins with a parade in town, with a procession of riders and carriages that crosses the streets of Lamballe starting at 11 a.m. In the afternoon, equestrian shows follow one another in the main arena and the career of the Stud: dressage, driving, guiding, ethology, Hungarian post, pas de deux, and demonstrations of breeds and gaits. Participants from regional stables and equestrian clubs showcase the diversity of disciplines and horse breeds.

A tribute to the Breton horse

Equi'Festif gives a privileged place to the Breton horse, particularly the Postier Breton, an emblematic breed of the region. Breeders of Breton horses from the Lamballe region present their animals and share their passion with the public. For the Stud's bicentennial, an exhibition by IFCE titled “At the Crossroads of the Horse World” retraced 300 years of equestrian expertise of the National Studs through four themes: traditional riding and driving, horse-drawn vehicles, saddlery, genetics, and breeds.

Activities for everyone

Family activities complete the program: pony and donkey rides, carriage rides, tours of the historic stables, and catering stands. Associations and professionals from the equestrian industry have information and demonstration stands throughout the day.
