The Grand Reims gaming hub
Since 2006, the Ludomania association has hosted the Faites du Jeu festival in Tinqueux, a town bordering Reims. Admission has been free since the very first edition, and the event draws between 1,700 and 2,000 visitors and competitors every year.
Over 2,000 m² dedicated to gaming
The festival takes place across two buildings on Rue de la Croix Cordier: the Guy Hallet village hall and the Frédérique Bronquard gymnasium. One hosts general public activities while the other is dedicated to competitions, with the layout varying from year to year. You will find family board games, expert strategy and management games, giant wooden games, games of skill, puzzles, and activities for the little ones.
Competitions and tournaments
Speedcubing has been part of the festival since 2013: the Champagne Open has become one of the most significant Rubik's Cube competitions in France, with events spread over two days and the grand final held on Sunday late afternoon. Registration is handled via the World Cube Association. Miniature gaming takes over the gymnasium mezzanine, featuring Blood Bowl and Warhammer 40,000 tournaments, painting workshops run by the Games Workshop shop in Reims, and a painting contest hosted by the Figurines Club de Champagne from Taissy. Partner shops from Reims also organize card game tournaments in some years.
A free, family-friendly festival
Admission is free and there are no raffles; the association relies on the refreshment bar for funding. Game hosts are available at the tables to explain the rules, and you are more than welcome to sit down alone and discover a game with new people. Tournaments are open to spectators, especially the Rubik's Cube and miniature gaming events. The site is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.
