A photography festival rooted in the Bégoux district

Created in 2016 by the association Clic-Images, a photo workshop based in the Bégoux district of Cahors, the Fest'Images - Territoire du Monde festival has become a must-see event for contemporary photography in the Lot region. Every year, from late September to late October, the festival transforms the streets of Cahors into an open-air gallery, offering free access to hundreds of photographs displayed on large tarpaulins.

Outdoor photographic trails

The festival is structured around two main outdoor exhibition trails:

  • The Bégoux trail, around the village hall, the community garden, and the fountain square, where the works of selected photographers and members of Clic-Images are exhibited.
  • The urban trail, on the fences of the Gambetta college and along Wilson street in downtown Cahors, featuring large-format photographic series.

Photographs are also displayed in the windows of partner businesses (bookstores, opticians, cafes), at the Le Grand Palais cinema, and in other cultural venues like the Le CHAI youth hostel.

An opening weekend full of activities

The festival's inaugural weekend is a highlight that brings together photography enthusiasts and amateurs. It usually begins on Friday evening with a film screening at Le Grand Palais, related to the world of photography. On Saturday and Sunday, the Bégoux village hall hosts numerous free activities:

  • Exhibitions by guest photographers of honor and association members
  • Conferences and screenings on the history of photography
  • Portfolio reviews and practical workshops
  • Sales of vintage photographic equipment and books
  • Photo rallies and portrait sessions

Themes that explore the world

Each edition of the festival is built around a unifying theme that guides the selection of photographers and inspires the creations of Clic-Images members. Among the themes explored: Seen from elsewhere (2021), Exploring the city (2022), Uncertain gazes (2023), Ephemerality (2024), and Daydreams (2025).

A springboard for photographers

Each year, the festival launches an open call for applications for amateur and professional photographers, from the region and beyond. About ten series are selected to be printed on large tarpaulins and exhibited for the duration of the festival. Guest photographers of honor are also featured, such as Jean-Fabien Leclanche, Salah Bouanani, Pierre Lasvesnes, or Bekir Yesiltas. The festival collaborates with other photographic events, notably Les Chemins de Photo in the Aude region.

The Clic-Images association

Founded in Cahors, the Clic-Images association is a photo workshop that brings together contemporary photography enthusiasts. Throughout the year, it offers its members thematic workshops, photographic challenges, field trips, image readings, and photo marathons. The Fest'Images - Territoire du Monde festival is the culmination of its annual activities, driven by the commitment of its president Didier Cazaban and its volunteers.
