À Plein Courant: a new festival for Contre-Courant
À Plein Courant is a festival launched in 2026 by Contre-Courant MJC-SMAC, the Contemporary Music Venue (Scène de Musiques Actuelles) of Belleville-sur-Meuse. The first edition was held on May 9 and 10, 2026, transforming the surroundings of the MJC into a festive and cultural space open to all for a weekend.
A festive gathering where energies meet
Conceived as a moment of conviviality and sharing, the festival is structured around a multidisciplinary program:
- Concerts and shows: contemporary music and artistic proposals presented by Contre-Courant as a SMAC.
- Sports activities: fun and engaging sports activities to complement the musical offerings and energize the weekend.
- Activities for all ages: karaoke, sound awakening, tattoo stand, games and face painting for young and old.

Labeled a Contemporary Music Venue (Scène de Musiques Actuelles) by the Ministry of Culture, Contre-Courant MJC is a major cultural player in Nord Meusien. Throughout the year, the structure programs concerts, shows, and events that bring contemporary music to life in the Grand Verdun area. The À Plein Courant festival enriches this program by offering, from its very first edition, a moment of popular celebration and discovery.

Located in Belleville-sur-Meuse, a few kilometers north of Verdun, the festival site benefits from a pleasant natural setting. The MJC's spaces are well-suited for organizing a festive and family-friendly open-air event.

First edition of a new festive event
On May 9th and 10th, 2026, Contre-Courant MJC-SMAC launched the very first edition of the À Plein Courant festival in Belleville-sur-Meuse. Conceived as a festive gathering where energies meet and flow freely, this weekend brought together concerts, shows, sports, an exhibition opening, and activities for all ages, centered around the values of the Meuse's Contemporary Music Scene.
Weekend format
- Saturday, May 9th, 2026: from 2 PM to 11 PM — festive program until the evening.
- Sunday, May 10th, 2026: from 10 AM to 5 PM — daytime program, more family-oriented.

- Concerts and shows presented by Contre-Courant as a SMAC;
