About Art Lyrique Salon

The Festival d'Art Lyrique de Salon-de-Provence offers opera and lyrical music evenings each summer at the Chateau de l'Emperi, featuring international soloists, choirs, and symphony orchestras. Founded in 2006, this intimate and passionate festival showcases the great opera arias of Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Mozart, and other masters of the lyrical repertoire in the enchanting setting of the castle's Renaissance courtyard.

Opera under the Provençal Stars

The Festival d'Art Lyrique de Salon-de-Provence was born in 2006 from the passion of a group of enlightened amateurs for lyrical art. Each summer, in August, the festival takes over the Renaissance courtyard of the Chateau de l'Emperi and the Auditorium of the Atrium to offer open-air opera evenings, bringing together international soloists, choirs, and symphony orchestras in an exceptional historical setting.

Great Arias from the Lyrical Repertoire

The festival's programming explores the great works of the lyrical repertoire, from Verdi to Puccini, from Bizet to Mozart, from Rossini to Donizetti. Themed evenings allow for the discovery or rediscovery of the most beautiful opera arias in accessible formats, alternating recitals, lyrical concerts, and staged performances. Renowned soloists perform regularly, accompanied by Italian and French choirs and orchestras.

A Cultural and Educational Complement

Beyond the concerts, the festival offers film screenings related to opera, photographic exhibitions, and meet-and-greets with the artists. This educational and cultural dimension enriches the audience's experience and helps make lyrical art accessible to everyone, including newcomers.

The Chateau de l'Emperi, a Lyrical Jewel Box

The Chateau de l'Emperi, one of the largest medieval fortresses in Provence, offers an idyllic setting for lyrical performances. The Renaissance courtyard, with its stone walls and natural acoustics, transforms each evening into a magical moment where the singers' voices soar under the starry Provençal sky.
