Celtic culture celebrated in Questembert

Born in 2021, the Festival de la Lune Rousse has quickly established itself as a must-attend event for Celtic and Breton culture in the Questembert region. Organized by the municipality and local Breton associations, this spring festival celebrates the richness of Breton traditions while opening them up to contemporary creation and inter-Celtic exchanges.

An eclectic program blending tradition and modernity

The festival offers a rich and varied program over several days: Breton and Celtic music concerts, lively fest-noz with traditional musicians and bands, daytime fest-deiz, tales and legends told by professional storytellers, film and documentary screenings on Breton culture, conferences on Breton history and heritage, and introductory workshops on Breton dance, polyphonic singing, and traditional instruments.

Gastronomy and conviviality

La Lune Rousse puts Breton gastronomy in the spotlight with gourmet walks to discover local producers, tastings of regional products, and the "Questembert appétit" banquet prepared by Breton chefs. These moments of sharing around the table are part of the tradition of conviviality that characterizes the festival.

Strong territorial roots

The festival takes place in several locations in Questembert: the Iris Cinéma for screenings and conferences, municipal halls for workshops, and the town's squares and streets for outdoor activities. This distribution of events throughout the town creates a real festive dynamic and showcases the architectural heritage of this town in inland Morbihan.

Transmission and heritage

Beyond the celebration, the Festival de la Lune Rousse pursues a mission of transmission. Breton dance workshops, singing sessions in Breton, and meetings with artists allow younger generations to discover Breton culture, while the fest-noz and fest-deiz bring all generations together in the shared pleasure of traditional music and dance.
