Music takes over the village's garages, stables, and houses
The Festival des Terres Fertiles is an original musical event held every September in Lanvaudan, a village of thatched cottages in Morbihan. For over 20 years, this free festival has taken over unusual locations in the village — garages, stables, the old presbytery, traditional houses — to offer a weekend of eclectic concerts, fest-noz, theater, and urban art. With 35 bands spread across about ten improvised stages, Terres Fertiles attracts around 4,000 spectators in a unique and friendly atmosphere.
The Terres Fertiles Festival is a unique event of its kind. For over 20 years, this festival has taken over the unusual locations of the village of Lanvaudan — garages, stables, the old presbytery, traditional thatched-roof houses — transforming this small Morbihan village into a vast open-air concert space. This original approach creates exceptional proximity between artists and the public, in intimate and warm settings.
The Terres Fertiles lineup is remarkably generous: 35 bands perform on about ten stages spread throughout the village. From rock to French chanson, from Breton music to electro, from jazz to reggae, the musical eclecticism is total. Each stage, set up in a different location, offers a unique listening experience: the acoustics of a stable are not the same as those of a garage, and the magic works with every concert.
The festival takes place over a September weekend. Saturday evening begins with rock and French chanson concerts, followed by a fest-noz at a farm. On Sunday afternoon, the 35 bands simultaneously take over the various stages in the village, creating a musical journey through the streets and houses of Lanvaudan. Graffiti artists intervene live, adding a visual dimension to the event.
Lanvaudan is a remarkable village in Morbihan, known for its perfectly preserved thatched-roof houses. This exceptional architectural heritage gives the festival a unique setting, where music resonates between stone walls and vegetal roofs in a timeless atmosphere.
True to its popular spirit, the Festival des Terres Fertiles is completely free. This accessibility, combined with the quality of the lineup and the originality of the concept, attracts around 4,000 spectators each year, coming from all over Morbihan and beyond to experience this extraordinary musical and human event.

The festival's concept relies on wandering through the village: wear comfortable shoes and allow time to visit all the stages. A village map with stage locations is distributed at the festival entrance. On Sunday afternoon, with 35 bands playing simultaneously, it's impossible to see everything: create your own personalized itinerary! As the festival takes place in September, bring a jacket for the cool evenings and an umbrella in case of rain. The Saturday evening concerts and the fest-noz continue late into the night.
Free parking lots are available at the entrance to the village of Lanvaudan. As the village is small, everything is within a few minutes' walk. Avoid parking in the village alleys to facilitate the movement of artists and organizers.
Food and drink stands are set up in the village during the festival. The offerings include galettes-saucisses, crepes, grilled meats, and local drinks. The residents of Lanvaudan also participate by offering tastings and homemade specialties.
