Circus and local produce on the move in the Perche
The Festival Mange ton Cirque is a traveling event that combines circus arts and discovery of local produce in the Perche region, around Longny-les-Villages in Orne. The festival's original concept offers evenings at local producers' and farmers' farms, combining contemporary circus performances, direct sales of farm products, and on-site catering with farm products. This unique format allows for the discovery of circus arts in an authentic rural setting while supporting local agriculture.
The Festival Mange ton Cirque offers an original and innovative concept: traveling evenings mixing circus arts and discovery of the agricultural world, directly at the farms of producers and farmers in the Perche. Each performance is an opportunity to discover a farm, its products, and its know-how, while attending high-quality contemporary circus shows.
Each evening of the festival follows a well-established program:
The event begins in the late afternoon with a period of direct sales. Visitors discover the host farm and its products: cheeses, meats, vegetables, jams, honey, cider... It's an opportunity to meet the producer, understand their work, and fill their basket with local and seasonal products.
In the early evening, a contemporary circus company presents its show. Aerial acrobatics, balance, juggling, clowning... Circus arts unfold in a unique rural setting, between barns and meadows. In 2025, the company SEA presented "Il en fallait deux", an aerial show that delighted the audience in the heart of the farm.
The evening continues with a convivial meal prepared using products from the host farm or partner farms. The "l'équilibre des saveurs" (balance of flavors) concept offers food truck-style catering with dishes made from local farm products. A moment of sharing and conviviality that extends the evening under the Perche stars.
Mange ton Cirque is committed to supporting local agriculture and promoting the Perche terroir. By setting up shows in the heart of farms, the festival creates a direct link between artists, producers, and the public. It participates in the promotion of short supply chains and raises public awareness of the challenges of peasant farming.
The festival visits several farms throughout its program, offering each evening a different setting and a unique atmosphere. This traveling nature allows for the discovery of the diversity of farms in the Perche and the richness of this rural Norman region, classified as a Regional Natural Park.
