Philosophy festival in the heart of the Saint-Émilion vineyards
The Festival Philosophia is a unique event that invites you to think, debate, and philosophize in the exceptional setting of Saint-Émilion, a village classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site and surrounded by prestigious vineyards.
Each edition explores a major philosophical theme or concept — happiness, freedom, time, love, space — through conferences, round tables, and debates led by renowned philosophers, sociologists, artists, scientists, and writers.
The festival offers philosophical walks in the vineyards, philosophy workshops for children, guided tastings, and intimate encounters. These original formats allow philosophy to be approached in a lively and accessible way.
Access to all events is free, in line with the festival's democratic mission. This accessibility, combined with the charm of Saint-Émilion, makes it an extremely popular event.
The Festival Philosophia returns in May 2026 to Saint-Émilion for its 19th edition.
Village of Saint-Émilion (33330). 40 km east of Bordeaux. Accessible by car (parking available) or by train (Saint-Émilion station). Shuttles from Bordeaux are possible.
