Festivin – Panzoult Wine Fair

Festivin is a unique wine event held every May 1st in the sculpted cave of Sibylle in Panzoult, a wine-producing commune of the AOC Chinon appellation. With over 60 editions, this traditional wine fair is one of the oldest and most popular events in the Touraine wine calendar.

The Sibylle Cave, a Magical Place

The Cave de la Sibylle is an ancient tuffeau stone quarry transformed into a remarkable visitor site, adorned with stone sculptures inspired by François Rabelais's Third Book. In this work, Panurge comes to consult the Sibyl of Panzoult, a famous fortune-teller. The sculptures adorning the cave walls tell this legendary story, creating an artistic, heritage-rich, and mysterious setting for wine tasting.

Winemakers of Panzoult

The event brings together the 14 to 15 winemakers from Panzoult, all producers in the AOP Chinon appellation, who present their wines in the Sibylle cave. They are joined by 6 winemakers from other appellations (Vouvray, Muscadet, Anjou, Champagne...), offering a broader panorama of French wines. Visitors can taste and buy directly from the producers.

Market and Entertainment

A large market of local producers and artisans accompanies the wine fair, offering specialties from the Chinonais and Touraine regions. Free musical entertainment punctuates the day: live music bands, Brazilian dance, and other shows contribute to the festive and popular atmosphere of this May 1st celebration. The 2025 edition introduced a bubble bar as a novelty.

A Popular and Friendly Event

From 10 am to 7 pm, Festivin offers a full day of oenological, gastronomic, and artistic discoveries in an exceptional troglodyte setting. The event is open to all, and the entertainment is free, making this wine-focused May 1st a moment of conviviality and sharing appreciated by locals and visitors to Touraine alike.
