About Strawberry Festival

The Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne Strawberry Festival is a must-attend gastronomic event organized every year on the second Sunday of May since 1989. This event celebrates the strawberry, an emblematic product of the southern Corrèze region, and holds two Guinness World Records: for the largest strawberry tart and the longest strawberry roulade cake (32 meters). With a producers' market, entertainment, tastings, and between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors, the Strawberry Festival has become a popular and friendly gathering in the Limousin Riviera.

A Gastronomic Festival Since 1989

The Strawberry Festival takes place every year in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne on the second Sunday of May, since 1989. This event celebrates the strawberry, a flagship product of the southern Corrèze production basin. The region produces about 400 tons of strawberries per year on 30 hectares, thanks to a mild and favorable climate that earns Beaulieu the nickname "Limousin Riviera". The festival attracts between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors each year, who come to discover or rediscover this delicious fruit and the accompanying entertainment.

Two Guinness World Records

The Strawberry Festival holds two Guinness World Records: for the largest strawberry tart and for the longest strawberry roulade cake, measuring 32 meters. These spectacular achievements are prepared with hundreds of kilos of local strawberries and require the mobilization of many volunteers. They are the highlight of the day and attract the attention of the media and visitors, contributing to the event's fame far beyond the borders of Corrèze.

Producers' Market and Entertainment

The festival runs from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Place Marbot, in the heart of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. Visitors can browse the stalls of local producers offering fresh strawberries, jams, syrups, pastries, and other local products. Artisans and shopkeepers complement the offerings with local crafts and original creations. Musical entertainment, street performances, and workshops for children punctuate the day, creating a festive and friendly atmosphere.

The Strawberry, Pride of the Corrèze Terroir

Strawberry cultivation in the southern Corrèze benefits from a particularly favorable microclimate, with mild temperatures and suitable rainfall. The varieties grown (Gariguette, Ciflorette, Mara des Bois) are renowned for their taste quality. The Strawberry Festival contributes to the promotion of this local production and the valorization of the know-how of Corrèze producers, while also enhancing the tourist appeal of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and the Dordogne Valley.

May 10, 2026 Edition

The 34th Strawberry Festival was held on Sunday, May 10, 2026 in Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, from 9 AM to 6 PM, mainly on Place Marbot and in the medieval city. As every second Sunday of May since 1989, the event celebrated the Corrèze strawberry, the pride of southern Corrèze, nicknamed the «Limousine Riviera».

Visitors could stroll through the market of local producers and artisans, meet the strawberry growers, and taste the famous giant strawberry tart distributed in the late afternoon (1 € per slice, from 4:30 PM). Also on the program: Batucada Brésil Volcanic, bandas, acrobats, jugglers, clowns, balloon sculptures, fishing area, children's games, and on-site catering. Free shuttles facilitated access to the city center from the outlying car parks.

The 2026 edition once again brought together several thousand visitors around the Gariguette strawberry, an emblematic variety of the Corrèze basin (400 tons produced annually over 30 hectares), perpetuating the memory of the two Guinness World Records associated with the event: the 8-meter diameter strawberry tart (1990, 900 kg of strawberries) and the 30-meter giant strawberry cake (2017, 1,500 slices).
