Rediscover the Gallic spirit in the heart of Morbihan
The Fête des Menhirs de Languidic is one of the oldest popular festivals in Morbihan. Created in the early 1970s, it has celebrated the Gallic and Breton heritage for over fifty years on the magnificent Kersolan site, a wooded and enchanted area ideally suited for recreating a Gallic village and for outdoor festivities.
The heart of the Fête des Menhirs is the recreation of a Gallic village at the Kersolan site. Huts, a forge, a potter's workshop, a druidic altar, and a wooden palisade create an immersive setting where costumed artisans and volunteers bring the gestures and know-how of our ancestors back to life. Visitors are invited to wander through this village, interact with the reenactors, and participate in the various activities offered.
The Fête des Menhirs offers a rich program of Gallo-Breton and Celtic games: log throwing, tug-of-war, Breton wrestling (gouren), sack races, and the traditional Breton bowling competition. These events, open to all, are held in a good-natured and competitive atmosphere that delights both participants and spectators.
The evenings of the Fête des Menhirs are enlivened by concerts of Breton and popular music, lively fest-noz, and street and circus shows. The artisan market and the local producers' market complete the offerings, allowing visitors to discover the crafts and flavors of the Morbihan region.
The Fête des Menhirs is above all a family event. Specific activities are planned for children: face painting, giant wooden games, pony rides, and creative workshops. The warm and friendly atmosphere, driven by the volunteers of the organizing association, makes this event a cherished moment of intergenerational sharing.
The Kersolan site, located in the commune of Languidic between Lorient and Hennebont, offers an exceptional natural setting for the festival. This wooded area, adorned with menhirs and megalithic remains, gives the event a unique atmosphere, blending nature, history, and legend.

As the Kersolan site is natural terrain (wooded), bring suitable footwear (ground may be damp in case of rain). Chairs and tables are available in the dining area, but a blanket might be useful for sitting on the grass during shows.
