The unmissable event for gardening and botany enthusiasts at the Château de Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard
Twice a year, the Château de Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard (91940) hosts the Fête des Plantes, one of the largest gatherings of nurserymen and gardeners in Europe. More than 200 exhibitors, including the best European producers, offer rare plants, plants from around the world, and horticultural expertise in an exceptional historic setting.
The Château de Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard, an elegant 17th-century estate located in the Mérantaise valley a few kilometers from Paris, is twice a year the stage for one of Europe's most beautiful horticultural events: the Fête des Plantes. In spring and autumn, more than 200 exhibitors from the best French and European nurseries showcase rare plants, shrubs, perennials, bulbs, and garden art in the park's avenues.
Organized by the Association des Amis du Château de Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard, the Fête des Plantes has existed since the 1990s. It is held at two key times in the gardener's calendar:
Each event attracts tens of thousands of enthusiasts from all over the Île-de-France region and beyond to discover varieties not found in traditional garden centers and to meet specialized producers.
The Château de Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard, a listed Historic Monument, is surrounded by a French formal garden and a remarkable 17th-century historic vegetable garden, one of the most beautiful in France, with its 400 meters of trellises, its beds of old vegetables, and its espaliered fruit trees. This unique setting gives the Fête des Plantes an incomparable atmosphere, where horticultural beauty blends with architectural elegance.
What makes the Fête des Plantes de Saint-Jean-de-Beauregard famous is above all the rigorous selection of its exhibitors. You will find:
Alongside the market stalls, the Fête des Plantes offers a cultural and educational program: conferences by expert botanists and gardeners, guided tours of the historic vegetable garden and park, meetings with landscape designers and agronomists. These moments of exchange and sharing contribute to the educational dimension of the event.
