The 36th Bécherel Book Festival takes place on Easter weekend, from Saturday, April 4 to Monday, April 6, 2026, in France's first small book town, in Ille-et-Vilaine (Brittany). For three days, the parks, squares, gardens, alleys, artists' studios, and bookstores of the medieval village fill with books and festivities.
2026 Theme: « True or False »
The 2026 edition highlights two strong words, « True » and « False », explored in all their facets: mythology, fantasy, philosophy, magic, and autofiction. A topical theme that permeates the weekend's meetings, readings, and exhibitions.
On the Program
Used and antique book market bringing together many booksellers and second-hand booksellers, author meetings and signings, conferences, workshops (bookbinding, calligraphy, illumination, ceramics), shows for young audiences, musical readings, storytelling, exhibitions, and concerts throughout the village. The event is for all audiences and all ages.

Shuttles serve Bécherel during the weekend (STAR lines from Rennes and BreizhGo lines). Parking at the village entrance.
