Traditional gastronomic festival in Creuse at Saint-Marc-à-Loubaud
For over thirty years, the Fête du Pâté aux Pommes de Terre has celebrated the most emblematic dish of Creuse cuisine: the potato pie. This golden tart, filled with thinly sliced potatoes, fresh cream, and parsley, encased in shortcrust or puff pastry, is a true symbol of Limousin's culinary identity.
On Saturday afternoon, the Foulées du Pâté aux Pommes de Terre kicks off the festivities with a 12.1 km race and an 8.1 km popular walk. On Saturday evening, enjoy potato pie tasting and a free dance. Sunday is the main festival day with a potato peeling contest with prize-giving, a local producers' market, tastings throughout the day, a show, and a flea market.
Organized by the Saint-Marc-à-Loubaud festival committee, this event brings together residents and visitors each year in a friendly and festive atmosphere. The festival perpetuates the Creuse culinary tradition while offering various activities that make it an unmissable family event in southern Creuse.
The 2026 edition of the Fête du Pâté aux Pommes de Terre will be held on July 18th and 19th in Saint-Marc-à-Loubaud. On Saturday, the Foulées du Pâté will open the festivities, followed by tastings and a dance. On Sunday, the peeling contest, producers' market, shows, flea market, and potato pie tastings will liven up the day.
