The great tripoux festival in Thiézac, Cantal capital of conviviality
Tripoux is one of the most emblematic specialties of Cantal and Auvergne. This traditional dish, made from veal tripe and sheep's paunch, simmers for a long time in an aromatic broth to offer tender and flavorful meat. Every butcher, every family has its own recipe, passed down from generation to generation, making tripoux a true emblem of Cantalian culinary identity. It is to pay homage to this popular and unifying dish that the Fête One Two Tripoux was born in Thiézac in 2006.
The Association One Two Tripoux was created with the aim of promoting tripoux and the territory of Thiézac and its valley. The name, a playful and quirky nod, reflects the festive and friendly spirit of the event. Since its first edition in 2006, the festival has continued to grow to become an unmissable event in the Cantalian gourmet calendar, gathering more than 2,500 visitors in the village streets each year.
Organized on the 2nd Sunday of June, the festival transforms Thiézac into a true capital of tripoux for a day. The association's volunteers mobilize to offer a rich, varied, and free program, open to all audiences.
The highlight of the day is the morning dedicated to showcasing the famous tripoux in traditional or revisited recipes. Beyond traditional tripoux, cooks compete in imagination by offering original variations: tripoux in lasagnas, verrines, tapas, or puff pastries.
The producers' market complements the gourmet offer with Cantal cheeses, artisanal charcuterie, honey, jams, and farm products from the Cère valley. From the morning, a tripoux snack is offered to all visitors for a most authentic taste awakening.
The Fête One Two Tripoux would not be complete without its festive entertainment. Traditional and Occitan music concerts resonate in the village streets, while folk groups introduce the dances of Cantal and Auvergne. Street theater adds an artistic touch with companies that wander and perform among the market stalls.
Storytelling tours allow visitors to discover the nooks and crannies and history of the village. Donkey rides, a treasure hunt for children, and a grand raffle complete the program. A ball concludes the day in the purest tradition of village festivals.
Free and open to all, the Fête One Two Tripoux embodies the conviviality and generosity of Cantal. It promotes ancestral artisanal know-how while integrating it into a festive and modern approach. The event contributes to the dynamism of the village of Thiézac and to the influence of Cantalian gastronomy far beyond departmental borders.
The 2026 edition of the Fête One Two Tripoux will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2026 in Thiézac, in the heart of the Cère valley in Cantal.
The program for this gourmet and festive day includes: a morning tripoux snack, a culinary workshop focused on tripoux and a market of local producers, storytelling tours in the village, traditional music concerts, street theater shows, traditional games, and the famous popular dance in the evening.
Free and open to all, this community festival is a unique opportunity to discover Cantalian tripoux in all its forms and to share a moment of authentic conviviality in one of the most beautiful villages in the Cère valley.
