The gathering of tall ships and maritime heritage
Launched in 2024, the Fêtes Maritimes de La Rochelle celebrate the exceptional maritime heritage of the region. For four days in June, tall ships, traditional boats, and nautical activities take over the port for the delight of visitors.
Created in 2024, the Fêtes Maritimes de La Rochelle were born from the desire to celebrate the rich maritime heritage of La Rochelle and Charente-Maritime. For four days in June, the Bassin des Chalutiers hosts nearly 150 traditional boats including three-masts, classic sailboats, and heritage boats.
The festival offers a rich and free program: boat tours, caulking workshops, restoration demonstrations, cultural exhibitions, concerts, and nautical activities. The event attracts over 100,000 visitors celebrating the sea and maritime traditions.
The highlight of the festival is the parade of tall ships entering the basin, a majestic spectacle that revives the maritime history of La Rochelle. Sea shanties and traditional activities complete this celebration of maritime culture.
The third edition of the Fêtes Maritimes returns in June 2026 to celebrate maritime heritage with tall ships, traditional boats, and free activities.
For its third edition, the Fêtes Maritimes de La Rochelle continue to celebrate the exceptional maritime heritage of the region with an impressive fleet of traditional sailboats and a program of free activities.
