The great traditional funfair of North Alsace
Every year in May, Haguenau — the fourth largest city in Alsace and an imperial city with nine centuries of history — hosts its traditional Haguenau Fair. This popular event is one of the highlights of the city's festive life and symbolically marks the beginning of the good season. For ten days, the large car park at Quai des Pêcheurs, ideally located on the banks of the Moder, transforms into an ephemeral amusement park that attracts families and thrill-seekers from all over Northern Alsace.
The Haguenau Fair offers about twenty attractions carefully selected to satisfy all audiences:
The atmosphere of the Haguenau Fair is electric: the multicolored lights of the rides illuminate the May evenings, the lively music resonates on the banks of the Moder, and the gourmet smells — cotton candy, candy apples, churros, waffles, and crepes — add an irresistible sensory dimension. Families gather for memorable outings, groups of friends for lively evenings, and nostalgic visitors to rediscover the timeless charm of the funfair.
The Quai des Pêcheurs offers a flat and spacious area, easily accessible and suitable for people with reduced mobility. Located in the heart of Haguenau, near the historic city center, it allows visitors to combine their visit to the fair with a stroll through the imperial city and its heritage treasures: the Historical Museum, Saint-Georges Church, half-timbered houses, and the undivided forest, one of the largest lowland forests in Europe.
The Haguenau Fair Kermesse was held from Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 17, 2026 on the Quai des Pêcheurs car park, featuring about twenty fairground attractions for all ages. Edition concluded — next edition expected in spring 2027.
The Haguenau Fair Kermesse took place from Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 17, 2026 on the Quai des Pêcheurs car park, bordering the Moder and in the immediate vicinity of the city center. For ten days, about twenty attractions — thrill rides, bumper cars, family attractions for the youngest, and game stalls — enlivened the heart of the imperial city.
As every year, the confectionery stalls delighted visitors: cotton candy, candy apples, churros, waffles, and crepes accompanied the illuminated evenings of the rides. The site, flat and accessible to people with reduced mobility, allowed families to enjoy the fair in complete safety.
The Haguenau Fair Kermesse is an annual event organized every spring by the City of Haguenau. The next edition is expected in spring 2027, to be confirmed with the official city program.
