About Houlgate Festival & Baie de Scène
Every year at the start of the autumn season, the Houlgate Festival & Baie de Scène brings comedy and theatre performances previously seen in Paris and Avignon to the Cinéma du Casino in Houlgate, alongside a competition that gives young comedians a chance to shine. Founded in 2021 by theatre administrator Jean-Michel Mingasson and actress Virginie Lemoine, who serves as artistic director, the festival kicks off each edition with a bagpipe parade through the town streets.
Houlgate Festival & Baie de Scène — edition 2026
The 6th edition kicks off on September 2nd with a bagpipe parade through the streets of Houlgate, followed by three evenings of performances at the Cinéma du Casino: the visual comedy of Vice Versa, a lively lecture on "Le Radeau de la Méduse," and the family comedy "Ma famille en or." The festival concludes on September 6th with the final of the competition that showcases emerging comedians each year.
