There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
ℹ️ Festival discontinued. The Imag'in Festival, a gathering for urban music in Tours created in 2008 by the Prod'Cité association, has not been held since its 10th edition in September 2018. This page is kept for archival purposes.
For about ten years, the Imag'in Festival was the benchmark event for urban music in Tours. Organized by the Prod'Cité association and its founder Pepiang Toufdy, it offered evenings dedicated to rap, world music, electro, and amplified music each year in early September, promoting urban culture as a vector for social engagement and integration.
ℹ️ Festival discontinued since 2018. The Imag'in Festival is no longer held in Tours. Its last documented edition — the 10th, organized for the festival's tenth anniversary — took place on September 28 and 29, 2018, on Île Aucard. The organizing association Prod'Cité still exists but has since refocused on media education (Fabrique d'Images Citoyennes, Wanted TV show) and no longer organizes the event. No edition has been publicly documented since 2018.
Created in 2008 on the initiative of the Prod'Cité association, the Imag'in Festival established itself for a decade as the major urban music event in Tours. The event aimed to break down genre barriers and foster dialogue between aesthetics that don't always meet: rap, world music, electro, amplified music, and contemporary sound creations.
Imag'in was not limited to a simple concert program. The festival was part of an initiative to promote urban culture as a mode of social engagement and integration. During its first nine editions, it was held in early September on Place Saint-Paul, in the heart of the Sanitas district, with free admission, attracting a growing audience (up to 4,000 spectators). The Prod'Cité association, led by director Pepiang Toufdy, also welcomed artists throughout the year to support them in their musical and artistic creation.
The festival gave pride of place to emerging artists and budding talents. The winners of the competition organized as part of Imag'in became members of the association, which then supported them in their artistic development.
After a turbulent 2017 edition, the organizers chose to renew the formula for the festival's tenth anniversary by moving from Sanitas to Île Aucard, with paid ticketing and an ambitious program (Chinese Man, Le Peuple de l'Herbe, Davodka…). However, this 10th edition on September 28 and 29, 2018, revealed the organizational limits and effectively marked the festival's last edition. The association's official website is no longer online, and no new edition has been announced since. Should a revival ever be organized, the information would need to be confirmed with the Prod'Cité association.
ℹ️ No 2026 edition. The Imag'in Festival has not been held since 2018. No edition is planned in Tours in September 2026.
ℹ️ 2026 Edition: no edition planned. The Imag'in Festival in Tours has not taken place since its 10th edition on September 28 and 29, 2018 (Île Aucard). At the time of our editorial verification (June 2026), no public source — organizer, Tours city hall, tourist office, local press — announces the return of the festival in 2026. The website of the Prod'Cité association is no longer online and the association has refocused on media education. This record is kept for archival purposes; no 2026 edition is scheduled.
