About Jazz en Place
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Jazz en Place festival takes over Dinan and the Rance Valley from August 24th to 30th, 2026. Enjoy a week of free jazz concerts—two every evening for five days—kicked off by an opening film, along with a variety of activities including batucada street performances, circle singing, the Jazz en Place brass band, jam sessions, and photo exhibitions.
Jazz en Place celebrates its 20th anniversary
The Jazz en Place festival returns for its 20th-anniversary edition from August 24th to 30th, 2026, during the final week of August. This traveling festival spreads its rhythm across Dinan and the neighboring towns of the Rance Valley—Quévert, Lanvallay, and Pleudihen-sur-Rance.
A week of free jazz
The festival features two concerts every evening for five days, with a stellar lineup including Henri Texier, Baptiste Herbin, Olivier Témime, Paul Jarret, Chlorine Free, Forró Padaná, and many more. The week begins with an opening film screening and is filled with lively entertainment: batucada street performances, circle singing, the Jazz en Place brass band, jam sessions, and photo exhibitions.
A friendly festival in Brittany
Concerts will be held in iconic spots such as the courtyard of the Château de Dinan, as well as the Courtil des Senteurs (Quévert), the Jardin de Saint-Solen (Lanvallay), and the town square in Pleudihen-sur-Rance. All concerts and activities are free (only the opening film screening requires a ticket). A variety of food and drinks will be available on-site.

- Monday, August 24th — 8:15 PM, Émeraude Cinéma (Dinan): Screening of the documentary "Quelques notes sur la liberté" by Benjamin Delattre (ticketed event, €6.50).
- Tuesday, August 25th — Quévert, Courtil des Senteurs: Post Méridien Tiengo (7:30 PM) followed by the Olivier Témime trio, featuring Emmanuel Bex and Simon Goubert (9:00 PM).
- Wednesday, August 26th — Lanvallay, Saint-Solen garden (7:30 PM): Mourad Loucif & TAO Project followed by the Paul Jarret trio "Sweet Dog".
- Thursday, August 27th — Pleudihen-sur-Rance, Place de la Mairie (7:30 PM): Sylvain Le Ray trio followed by the Malo Mazurié quartet.
- Friday, August 28th — Dinan, Château: Extent Quartet (8:00 PM) followed by Pearls (9:30 PM).
- Saturday, August 29th — Dinan, Château: Henri Texier "Blue Roots" Quartet (8:00 PM) followed by the Baptiste Herbin trio "Django" (9:30 PM), with a jam session to follow.
- Sunday, August 30th — Dinan, Château (Place du Duc Jean IV): Brass band (5:00 PM), Forró Padaná (6:00 PM) followed by Chlorine Free (7:30 PM).
