Jazzellerault: Thirty Years of Jazz in the Heart of Poitou
Born in 1994 from a simple jazz evening programmed by the association ACCORD, the Jazzellerault Festival has gradually established itself as a major event on the French jazz scene. Initially a modest musical night within the Châtellerault cultural season, the event took flight in 2014 by expanding to several days and officially adopting the name Jazzellerault Festival.
An Exceptional Cultural Setting
The festival primarily takes place at the Complexe Culturel de l'Angelarde, located at 44 rue de l'Angelarde in Châtellerault. This versatile venue offers a large stage for prestigious concerts, a discovery stage for emerging talents, and a club space for late-night jam sessions. Each edition also features a relocated evening at the Casino Partouche de La Roche-Posay, adding a touch of refinement to the program.
A Program Between Prestige and Discovery
Throughout its editions, Jazzellerault has hosted the biggest names in jazz and contemporary music: Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Diane Reeves, Ibrahim Maalouf, Richard Galliano, Avishai Cohen, Biréli Lagrène, and Goran Bregovic. The festival also embraces soul, funk, and world music, as evidenced by performances from Ben L'Oncle Soul, Brooklyn Funk Essentials, and Earth, Wind & Fire Experience.
An Accessible and Convivial Festival
True to its spirit of openness, Jazzellerault offers free open-air concerts every year, allowing as many people as possible to enjoy a high-quality program. Discovery evenings and after-shows at the club are also free, making the festival a truly popular event. On-site catering and the warm atmosphere by the Vienne river complete a most enjoyable festival experience.
Strong Territorial Roots
Supported by the association Accord-Jazzellerault and numerous volunteers, the festival actively contributes to the cultural influence of Châtellerault and the Vienne department. It attracts nearly 10,000 spectators each year and is a highlight of the summer cultural life in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

The 33rd edition of the Jazzellerault Festival takes place from June 4 to 12, 2026 at the Complexe culturel de l'Angelarde in Châtellerault, featuring Nik West, Kaz Hawkins Quintet, Loco Cello feat. Biréli Lagrène, Justina Lee Brown, and Ben L'Oncle Soul on the Main Stage, and an off-site evening at the Casino de La Roche-Posay with Lazcar Volcano & Sanseverino.
33rd Edition — June 4 to 12, 2026
The Jazzellerault Festival returns for nine days of jazz, soul, funk, and world music, from Thursday, June 4 to Friday, June 12, 2026. The program unfolds at the Complexe culturel de l'Angelarde in Châtellerault (Main Stage at 9 PM, Discovery Stage at 7:30 PM, and Club Stage at 11 PM), with an off-site evening at the Casino Partouche de La Roche-Posay on June 9 and a large free concert on Saturday, June 6 on the Main Stage.

The Discovery & Club Stage (free concerts)
Each evening, two free concerts frame the Main Stage: a Discovery set at 7:30 PM before the main concert, and a Club set at 11 PM after. The 2026 program highlights regional and emerging acts: Alex Grenier Quartet, Blow, Rue Latino, New Orleans Society, Conservatoire de Châtellerault, So & So, Jean-Baptiste Hardy Quintet, and Creamy Mouth.
A Territorial Program
Beyond l'Angelarde, the 2026 edition spreads across the Grand Châtellerault territory: concerts in businesses, jazz awareness actions in Châtellerault schools, and concerts in several neighboring communes. The majority of these events are freely accessible.

Location
Complexe Culturel de l'Angelarde, 44 rue de l'Angelarde, 86100 Châtellerault. One evening is relocated to the Casino Partouche de La Roche-Posay.
Access
By car: Châtellerault is accessible via the A10 motorway (exit 26). Follow signs for « Complexe Culturel de l'Angelarde ». Parking available nearby.
By train: Châtellerault SNCF station, served by TGV Paris-Bordeaux. The venue is a 15-minute walk from the station.
Ticketing
Full price: €28 per concert. 3-concert pass: €25 per concert. Reduced price (students, under 18s, job seekers): €15. Accord-Jazzellerault member price: €25 (€22 with pass). Discovery concerts, club, and open-air evenings: free. Online ticketing on the festival website, by mail, or on-site at the Complexe de l'Angelarde.
