A festival at the crossroads of visual and sound arts
The Kinoramax Festival was born in 2014 on the initiative of the Kinomad association, a collective committed to developing cultural actions and promoting audiovisual practice as a tool for social connection, encounters, and exchange. Located in the Lot and Vignoble valley, in the Lot department of Occitanie, the festival has established itself as a unique summer event blending cinema, music, visual arts, and performances.
An eclectic and committed program
Each edition of Kinoramax unfolds a rich and varied program over two intense days:
- Screenings: documentaries, experimental short films, sound creations, and auteur films, often in the presence of the directors
- Film-concerts: original audiovisual performances combining image and live music
- Live performances: theater, circus, artistic performances, and visual installations
- Music: concerts ranging from folk to electro, including experimental blues and DJ sets
- Workshops: beatbox, film scratching, screen printing, collage, graffiti, engraving, and other participatory artistic practices open to all ages
- Exhibitions: sculptures, visual installations, and plastic arts presented outdoors
A place for encounters and sharing
Kinoramax is distinguished by its friendly and inclusive atmosphere. The festival takes place outdoors in a remarkable natural setting, with covered areas (hall, marquee, large tents) to welcome the public regardless of the weather. The day is dedicated to workshops, screenings, and meetings, while the evenings pulse to the rhythm of concerts, film-concerts, and performances late into the night.
After a break, a rebirth
After its first editions starting in 2014, the festival took a break for a few years before being reborn in 2023 for its 4th edition at the Espace culturel Scène d'Anglars in Anglars-Juillac. Since then, Kinoramax has resumed its annual rhythm, with a 5th edition in 2024 in Luzech and a 6th edition in 2025 in Saint-Vincent-Rive-d'Olt, confirming the festival's roots in the Lot cultural landscape.
The Kinomad association
Based in Luzech (Maison des Consuls), the Kinomad association has been organizing the festival since its origins. Throughout the year, it develops cultural activities around audiovisuals: image education workshops, traveling screenings, artistic residencies, and events such as Kinocourts (short film festival) and Kinosplash (festival warm-up evenings). Kinomad celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2024, demonstrating a lasting commitment to culture in rural areas.
