About Bambino Party
The Bambino Party, also known as La Bambino fait son Show, is the major family event in Médoc Atlantique dedicated to children aged 3 to 12. Organized annually by the Médoc Atlantique Tourist Office and the commune of Hourtin, the event transforms the Île aux Enfants of Port d'Hourtin, on the shores of France's largest natural freshwater lake, into a true village of entertainment for a weekend in June.
Musical shows, traditional Guignol puppets, magic, storytelling, carousels, wooden games, face painting workshops, and gourmet stands: for two afternoons, families from Gironde and holidaymakers from Médoc gather in an exceptional pedestrian setting, in the heart of the Médoc Regional Natural Park, to share a festive and friendly moment between the lake and the Landes forest.
A major family event on the shores of Lake Hourtin
The Bambino Party — whose official name is now La Bambino fait son Show — is the flagship youth festival of Médoc Atlantique. Organized by the Médoc Atlantique Tourist Office in partnership with the commune of Hourtin, the event takes place every year on the second weekend of June on the Île aux Enfants, a pedestrian site dedicated to children located at Port d'Hourtin, on the edge of Lake Hourtin-Carcans.
This lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in France, offers a rare setting for a family event: between the Landes pine forest, freshwater beaches, and the marina, the Île aux Enfants becomes a true open-air entertainment park designed for families for two days.
Shows, entertainment, and games for 3-12 year olds
The festival is primarily aimed at children aged 3 to 12 (toddlers are welcome when accompanied). The program alternates:
- Musical shows with regularly invited young audience artists, including singer Frédéric Bardet
- Guignol puppets with the Guignol Guérin theater
- Magic, clowning, and balloon sculpting
- Stories and storytellers for the youngest
- Rides (carousel, spinning seats), duck fishing, traditional wooden games animated by Lou Béret
- Face painting workshops offered throughout the afternoon
- Gourmet stands (crêpes, ice cream) and a refreshment area
Shows alternate throughout the afternoon, while free-access activities (rides, face painting, wooden games, creative workshops) are continuously available for the entire duration of the festival.
A free and committed event
Access to the site and all activities is free of charge, making the Bambino Party one of the rare major summer events for children fully accessible to all families. The festival also engages in environmental awareness, in partnership with SMICOTOM during certain editions (waste management workshops, recycling awareness).
An exceptional natural setting in Médoc Atlantique
Port d'Hourtin and its Île aux Enfants are located away from the seaside hustle and bustle of Hourtin-Plage, on the eastern shore of the lake. The site is entirely pedestrian and has free parking nearby. After the festival, families and visitors can extend their day with a swim in the lake, a bike ride on the Médoc cycle paths, or the discovery of the nearby dunes and ocean beaches, in a preserved environment of the Médoc Regional Natural Park.

The Médoc Atlantique Tourist Office and the commune of Hourtin invite families on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026 to the Île aux Enfants at Port d'Hourtin for the new edition of the Bambino Party (officially La Bambino fait son Show).
Two afternoons of free entertainment
As every year, the festival takes place over two consecutive afternoons, generally from 2 PM to 6:30 PM, with shows alternating and free-access activities offered continuously throughout the pedestrian site.

Access
Hourtin is located in Médoc Atlantique, about 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Bordeaux via the D1215 then the D3 / D101. Port d'Hourtin is on the eastern shore of Lake Hourtin-Carcans, 5 km from the town and about 12 km from Hourtin-Plage on the ocean side.
