Le Chien à Plumes: The Smallest of the Big Festivals

Nestled on the banks of the Vingeanne lake in Villegusien-le-Lac, in Haute-Marne, Le Chien à Plumes was born in 1997 from a group of musician friends and music lovers. The first edition lasted only one day with four local bands, a music flea market, and a hot air balloon. Since then, the festival has continued to grow to become one of the unmissable events on the Grand Est music scene.

An Audacious and Eclectic Program

Each year, Le Chien à Plumes brings together about thirty artists on several stages, offering an intense musical journey through genres: rock, French chanson, electro, hip-hop, reggae, metal, and world music. Over the years, the festival has hosted renowned artists such as Eddy de Pretto, Polo & Pan, Ben Mazué, Dub Inc, Louis Bertignac, Fatoumata Diawara, Deluxe, Suzane, and Shaka Ponk, while also making ample room for discoveries and emerging artists through its Grand Est springboard.

A Friendly and Committed Spirit

Driven by the association La Niche du Chien à Plumes and animated by nearly 450 volunteers, the festival cultivates a family-friendly and convivial spirit that sets it apart from large commercial events. Camping is free for ticket holders, and children under 10 enter for free. The site offers a remarkable natural setting, on the edge of the Parc national de forêts, in the four lakes region, with a developed beach and thematic decoration renewed each year.

A Constantly Evolving Festival

In 2015, Le Chien à Plumes received the award for best small festival at the Festivals Awards, recognizing the quality of its programming and hospitality. The festival continues to reinvent itself: for its 28th edition in 2026, it offers a completely redesigned format with four stages, a rebalanced and diversified program, and significant improvements in scenography, shaded areas, and site organization.

Le Chien à Plumes — edition 2026

28th Edition — July 31st to August 2nd, 2026

For its 28th edition, Le Chien à Plumes is transforming itself with a completely redesigned format in both substance and form. The festival offers four stages, including a new intimate stage near the wine bar, and hosts approximately 40 concerts and artists in a diversified program.
