The biggest festive banquet in France, featuring terroir, concerts, and giant marquees
The Festival des Canonniers was born from a simple and ambitious idea: to bring together gourmets, party-goers, and lovers of French terroir in a unique place where each region of France is celebrated through its flavors, traditions, and music. Created in 2024 by Le Canon Français — a company specializing in organizing giant traveling banquets across France — the festival is the XXL version of the famous "Canon" evenings that tour the Hexagon.
The concept is spectacular: five immense circus marquees, each dedicated to a French region, are arranged around a giant 32-meter-high Eiffel Tower, the festival's true visual icon. In each marquee, guests discover the culinary and musical specialties of the region represented, with continuous concerts and a giant banquet atmosphere.
Gastronomy is at the heart of the Festival des Canonniers. Each ticket gives access to the Canonnier's Platter, a generous meal including two meats — spit-roast pigs and fire-braised beef — accompanied by two side dishes. The marquees are brimming with wines, craft beers, ciders, and a multitude of regional products served by producers and artisans from all over France.
The festival transforms every meal into a collective celebration, in the spirit of a popular banquet reminiscent of the great village feasts of yesteryear, transposed to the scale of a modern festival.
Each regional marquee hosts two to three concerts per evening, featuring artists and bands representative of the music scene of the region concerned. The mix of genres — variety, rock, traditional music, brass bands, festive music — contributes to the uninhibited atmosphere of the festival. Between concerts, festive entertainment, DJ sets, and musical ambiances extend the party into the heart of the night.
The first edition in June 2024 attracted over 8,000 participants from all over France, confirming the appeal of a concept that combines regional gastronomy, live performance, and popular celebration. The success was such that Le Canon Français quickly announced a second edition for 2026, with six marquees instead of five, representing six French regions.
Second edition of the Festival des Canonniers on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Boissière Event, in Mauléon (Saint-Pierre-des-Échaubrognes, Deux-Sèvres). Six giant marquees representing six regions of France — Brittany, Burgundy, Alsace, Auvergne, Occitania, and Normandy — surround a giant 32-meter Eiffel Tower. On the program: a giant banquet (Canonnier's Plate not included), dozens of regional concerts in each marquee, and a final concert in front of the castle.
The Festival des Canonniers returns on June 12 and 13, 2026 at Boissière Event, in the park of a castle located in La Chabossière, in the municipality of Saint-Pierre-des-Échaubrognes (delegated commune of Mauléon, Deux-Sèvres). Building on the success of its first edition in June 2024, which gathered over 8,000 participants, Le Canon Français and Maindron Production are stepping up: six giant marquees instead of five, this year representing Brittany, Burgundy, Alsace, Auvergne, Occitania, and Normandy.
Six immense circus marquees are arranged around a giant 32-meter-high Eiffel Tower, a symbol of Paris and the festival's visual icon. Each marquee is dedicated to a French region: you'll find its culinary specialties served at bars and stands, and a continuous regional music program with two to three concerts per evening and per marquee.
Site access opens at 6 PM on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13. Festival-goers wander from one marquee to another to sample the flavors and music of each region. To close each evening in apotheosis, a final concert is given in front of the castle, bringing together all the 'canonniers'. The site closes at 1 AM.
The organizer announces «dozens of artists with varied styles» in the six regional marquees. The nominative list of artists has not yet been published as of the update date of this page — it is generally unveiled progressively on the official website and Le Canon Français Facebook page.
