Solidarity theater festival for Pour un Sourire d'Enfant
Created in 2022 by Béatrice and Sébastien Biessy in partnership with the town of Cabourg, Les Théâtrales de Cabourg is a unique theater festival: each show presented is performed free of charge by the artists, who agree to perform voluntarily for the benefit of the association Pour un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE). Founded in 1996 by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, PSE supports the education of over 6,000 disadvantaged children in Cambodia.
Each year, the festival programs four shows carefully selected from major Parisian hits and selections from the Avignon Off Festival, acclaimed by critics and recognized by professionals. The performances take place at La Sall'In, the performance hall of the Grand Hôtel de Cabourg, offering an intimate and elegant setting.
Les Théâtrales is entirely organized by volunteers. Artists are hosted by local residents and fed by Cabourg merchants, to maximize the funds raised. From its first edition in 2022, the festival welcomed over 600 spectators and funded 5,200 professional training days for the children supported by PSE. The festival has since continued to break attendance and fundraising records.
The 5th edition of Les Théâtrales de Cabourg takes place from May 7 to 9, 2026, at La Sall'In and the Grand Hôtel. The program includes four shows, two of which are directed by Jean-Philippe Daguerre (nine-time Molière award winner) — Les Fourberies de Scapin and Marius — as well as Et si c'était elle ? by Franck Buirod and La Danse du Caméléon by Éric Bouvron. All profits are entirely donated to the association Pour un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE).
For this 5th edition, the festival offers four shows over three days, at La Sall'In and the Grand Hôtel de Cabourg. Two productions are directed by Jean-Philippe Daguerre, one of the most awarded French directors (nine Molière awards to his name).
As every year, the artists perform for free, hosted by locals and fed by Cabourg's merchants. All proceeds are donated to the association Pour un Sourire d'Enfant, which funds the education of disadvantaged children in Cambodia. The four previous editions have helped fund 35,271 days of schooling.
Tickets available on Billet Réduc, on the Cabourg town platform, and at the Tourist Office. Unit price: 25 € per show (15 € for under 18s). 3-day Pass at 75 € giving access to all four performances.
