The great maritime festival of the Lorient roadstead
Created in 2022, Lorient Océans has become, in just a few editions, the major maritime event in Lorient and its roadstead. The festival positions itself at the crossroads of maritime culture, live performance, and awareness of oceanic issues, offering a rich and varied program for all audiences.
The festival unfolds between La Base, the former Lorient submarine base site converted into a cultural and offshore racing hub, and the Keroman fishing port, one of the most important in France. This location allows the public to navigate between two complementary maritime worlds: large yachting and offshore racing on one side, professional and artisanal fishing on the other.
The maritime parades are one of the highlights of the festival, featuring processions of traditional boats, historic sailboats like the Pen Duick, offshore racing boats (Ultime, IMOCA), and military vessels in the Lorient roadstead. The public can also embark for sea trips on traditional sailboats, visit exceptional boats, and attend nautical demonstrations.
The festival offers a quality musical program with two evenings of major open-air concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings, featuring nationally renowned artists. A free village stage complements the offer with daily concerts from noon to evening, mixing sea shanties, world music, folk, pop, rock, and Breton fest-noz. Film screenings, meetings, and exhibitions enrich the cultural aspect of the event.
Lorient Océans extends beyond La Base thanks to the Rade en Fête program, which involves the communes bordering the roadstead: Hennebont (Blavet river ascent by sailboats, sailor's meal), Locmiquélic (port festival, screenings, concerts), and Port-Louis (spice and oyster tastings, musical entertainment). The Izilo boat-bus connects the different sites.
Lorient Océans places great importance on family and educational activities: workshops to discover sea professions, sailing initiations, activities for children, an exhibitors' village with gastronomic areas highlighting seafood products. Thematic villages present the history of the roadstead, new technologies in the maritime industry, innovations, and maritime ecology. Professional events bring together maritime stakeholders for conferences, job dating, and industry meetings.
The 5th edition of Lorient Océans takes place from June 25 to 28, 2026 in the Lorient roadstead. On the program: maritime parade with the Belem and the Pen Duick, major concerts by Bénabar and Yuri Buenaventura, a free village stage, boat visits, sea excursions and activities for the whole family. This edition is labeled 400 years of the French Navy.
The Lorient Océans festival returns from June 25 to 28, 2026 for its 5th edition between La Base and the Keroman fishing port. This edition celebrates the 400 years of the French Navy and welcomes the three-masted ship Le Belem on June 27 and 28 for public visits.
Two evenings of paid concerts at Terre-plein Papin, Pointe de La Base, from 6:30 PM to approximately 11:30 PM:
Every day on the village stage, groups perform throughout the day: midday, aperitif, dinner, and evening concerts, in an eclectic program mixing sea shanties, world music, folk, pop, and rock.
Sunday, June 28: the weekend concludes with a fest-noz with the group Sonerien Du.
The festival extends to the riverside communes of the roadstead:
The Izilo boat-bus connects all festival sites.
