The Marché de Potiers d'Argentat-sur-Dordogne is organized every year in August (usually the first weekend) in the Jardin Jean Saintangel, a green space developed on the banks of the Dordogne in the heart of Argentat. For over 35 years, this event has brought together around forty professional potters and ceramists from Corrèze, Limousin, and all over France to showcase their skills and creations. Utilitarian pottery, art ceramics, raku, stoneware, porcelain, earthenware, sculptures, and decorative objects make up a rich and varied offering that appeals to lovers of craftsmanship and beautiful materials.

Throwing demonstrations and workshops open to the public

The Marché de Potiers is not limited to the exhibition and sale of ceramics. Throwing demonstrations allow the public to discover the potter's gesture, the technique of the wheel, the shaping of clay, and the different stages of creating a ceramic piece. Workshops open to the public invite young and old to try their hand at working with clay, modeling, and creating their own pieces under the benevolent guidance of professionals.
