The Medieval Animations at the Château de Turenne take place during the summer within the walls of the Château de Turenne, a medieval fortress overlooking the village from its rocky spur. These historical animation days are offered by the association Historia Aquitanorum, specializing in medieval reenactment. Visitors can discover life in the Middle Ages through demonstrations, workshops, and guided tours, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Combat demonstrations and medieval daily life
The animations feature sword and lance combat demonstrations, presentations of armor and military equipment, as well as reenactments of daily life in the Middle Ages (cooking, crafts, costumes). Members of the association Historia Aquitanorum, dressed as knights, soldiers, and artisans, share their knowledge with the public and answer questions. - By car: Turenne is located 15 km south of Brive-la-Gaillarde, accessible via the D8. Free parking at the entrance of the village, then a walk (10-15 minutes) up to the castle.
- By train: Brive-la-Gaillarde SNCF station (15 km), then taxi or car rental.
