Fête de la Musique in Amiens

Just like everywhere else in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique turns the city of Amiens into an open-air stage every June 21st. Music takes over public spaces for free, from the afternoon until the early hours, offering something for every taste and every audience.

Four stages, four vibes

Amiens Métropole and its partner associations are setting up four free stages in the city center, each with its own musical identity.

  • Place Gambetta — Discoveries and contemporary music, the longest-running stage of the day: it opens at 1:00 PM with young musicians and wraps up at 1:30 AM with an electro set. It is hosted in rotation by Amiens collectives Mélodie en Sous-Sol, Creek Studio, Cité Carter, SDMEA, and Prolifik Records.
  • Place René-Goblet — Techno, house, and electro, in partnership with the Electrocker association, from 2:00 PM to 1:00 AM, featuring sets enhanced by live saxophone, violin, or percussion, along with dance performances.
  • City Hall Courtyard — Rock and pop-rock with the Festival R4, featuring a family-friendly afternoon (youth show starting at 2:00 PM) followed by concerts from 5:30 PM to midnight.
  • Placette Lafleur, at the Cathédrale university campus — The UPJV student stage, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM: choirs, vocal workshops, blues, rock, and winners of the Pulsations talent contest.

And throughout the rest of the city

The Cathédrale Notre-Dame joins the festivities with an organ recital by titular organist Geoffrey Chesnier at 3:30 PM on the grand organ, as part of the Organo Pleno series. Elsewhere, amplified music is permitted throughout the city until 2:00 AM: bars, terraces, and cultural venues—especially in the Saint-Leu district and along the banks of the Somme—will keep the party going long after the municipal stages close.
