The Fête de la Musique in Cahors

As everywhere in France since its creation in 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Cahors into an open-air stage every June 21. Numerous groups and artists offer a wide choice of music, in the medieval streets of the historic center as well as on the terraces of bars, brasseries, and restaurants. Throughout the evening, music resonates to celebrate the summer solstice and the beginning of summer in the most festive way.

A day of concerts at the préfecture du Lot

For the 2026 edition, the préfecture du Lot welcomes the Conservatoire du Grand Cahors in its Cour d'Honneur. From 11 AM until late afternoon, there will be a succession of harmony orchestras, cello, guitar, and flute ensembles, choirs (children, CHAM, Voc'Ado, mixed choirs), a violin trio, a lyrical voice ensemble, and a closing concert by CahOrchestra. Between each performance, a piano remains available to the public, amateur or confirmed.

The festival throughout the city

Beyond the prefecture, the Fête de la Musique unfolds throughout Cahors: stages are set up in the city center streets, and participating bars, restaurants, and brasseries animate their terraces late into the evening, with all musical styles.
