Free concerts throughout the city on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, Concarneau celebrates the Fête de la Musique: from the city center to the Ville-Close, squares, quays, and streets transform into open-air stages. Amateur musicians, local groups, and guest artists perform for free, in a festive and popular atmosphere, from mid-afternoon until the heart of the night.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the Breton city into a large open-air stage every June 21. In Concarneau, music freely takes over public spaces to celebrate the shortest night of the year and the arrival of summer, in all styles and for all audiences.
Usually, the program unfolds across numerous stages spread throughout the city: Place Jean-Jaurès, Parvis des Halles, Place du Puits, Le Petit Champ, as well as the narrow streets and the port. The historic district of Ville-Close, encircled by ramparts, extends the celebration throughout the evening. The program is eclectic — jazz, blues, rock, punk, salsa, folk, metal, electro, and Breton music — and mixes professional artists and amateur practices.
