Every June 21, Dax celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, Dax musical societies, and professional artists play for free in the streets, squares, and cafes of the city center. Organized by the Ville de Dax, the day is entirely free and open to all, to the sound of guitars, trumpets, and percussion.

The Fête de la Musique in Dax
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the spa town of Dax into an open-air stage every June 21. To celebrate the arrival of summer, the city in the Landes region opens its streets to all music enthusiasts, professionals and amateurs alike, from early evening until the heart of the night.
