About Music Festival in Le Havre
Every June 21, Le Havre celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, bands, and professional artists play for free in the streets and squares, mostly outdoors, from classical to rock, jazz, reggae, and electro. Organized by the City of Le Havre, the day is entirely free and takes place mainly in the lower town.
The Fête de la Musique in Le Havre
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms Le Havre into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from the first concerts of the day until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A celebration in the lower town
The event usually concentrates in Le Havre's lower town, around the Hôtel de Ville, rue de Paris, and the Bassin du Commerce, in a unique port setting. The Saint-François district, a former fishing quarter with its bars and restaurants, extends the celebration into the evening. To guide the public, the City annually publishes an interactive map listing all concerts declared by artists and organizers.
