Free concerts throughout the city on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, Pessac celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, music schools, local associations, and invited groups play for free in the city's squares, esplanades, and cultural venues. Organized by the City of Pessac, the day is entirely free and blends all styles, from rock to French chanson, African percussion to funk, folk to rap.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Pessac into an open-air stage every June 21. In this commune of the Bordeaux metropolitan area, music freely takes over public spaces in the late afternoon and evening, brought by Pessac associations, music schools, and numerous invited groups.
The 2026 edition features concerts on several stages in Pessac: the Parc de Cazalet, the Scène de la 5e République, the Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle entrusted to the École de musique and the Société Musicale Saint-Martin, as well as the Pôle culturel de Camponac. Genres coexist without hierarchy: French variety, rock, batucada and samba, African percussion, reggae, chanson, folk, funk, jazz, and rap.
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Pessac takes place on Sunday, June 21st, free of charge throughout the city, starting at 5 PM. Several stages animate the town: Cazalet Park, the 5e République stage, the Charles-de-Gaulle esplanade, and the Camponac cultural center, with a program mixing rock, French song, percussion, reggae, folk, funk, and rap.
